Nanoscale circuit board 245 THZ ultra-high speed can be obtained

Researchers at the National University of Singapore (NUS) have designed and built a circuit board that can reach speeds of up to 245THz, a speed that is tens of thousands of times faster than modern microprocessors, which will drive the design of new circuits.
When light comes in contact with some metal, it can produce a large number of electrons, which are extremely fast. We can use this phenomenon to build devices such as ultra fast computers. However, this phenomenon occurs at a very small level so that we can not use the instrument to study, let alone use it.
Researchers at NUS University have found a way to make use of the phenomenon. The research team constructed a circuit board with a molecular level, which contains 2 ion generators (a device that turns photons into an example). The two ion generator is a layer of molecules with a thickness of only 0.5 nm.
By using electron microscopy, the scientists found that this layer of molecules can make the ion back and forth movement, can make the system to produce the highest frequency of 24THz, and by changing the molecular layer materials, scientists can control the frequency of the system.
